A Morphological Feature-Oriented Algorithm for Extracting Impervious Surface Areas Obscured by Vegetation in Collaboration with OSM Road Networks in Urban Areas

چکیده
Remote sensing is the primary way to extract impervious surface areas (ISAs). However, obstruction of vegetation a long-standing challenge that prevents accurate extraction urban ISAs. Currently, there are no general and systematic methods solve problem. In this paper, we present morphological feature-oriented algorithm, which can make use OSM road network information remove obscuring effects when ISAs extracted. Very high resolution (VHR) images Wuhan, China, were used in experiments verify effectiveness proposed algorithm. Experimental results show algorithm improve accuracy completeness ISA by our previous deep learning-based overall (OA) 86.64%. The feasible vegetation-obscured effectively precisely.

Segmentation of Urban Areas Using Road Networks∗
Region-based analysis is fundamental and crucial in many geospatialrelated applications and research themes, such as trajectory analysis, human mobility study and urban planning. In this paper, we report on an image-processing-based approach to segment urban areas into regions by road networks. Here, each segmented region is bounded by the high-level road segments, covering some neighborhoods a...
متن کاملRoad pricing in urban areas
Road pricing has been promoted by transport economists for decades as a means of solving congestion problems in big cities. Congestion causes enormous costs to society in a number of ways; for example, overall transport costs rise, polluting emissions increase, the demand for infrastructure is artificially driven up. The social benefits of solving the congestion problem would therefore be enorm...
متن کاملRoad Extraction in Rural and Urban Areas
An approach for automatic road extraction from digital aerial imagery is presented. The extraction is based on a semantic model for roads. The images are divided into different so-called “global contexts”: rural, forest, and urban. Different parts of the road model and different strategies are used in the different global contexts. In rural areas, a multi-scale approach is employed to find init...
متن کاملUnderstanding Road Usage Patterns in Urban Areas
In this paper, we combine the most complete record of daily mobility, based on large-scale mobile phone data, with detailed Geographic Information System (GIS) data, uncovering previously hidden patterns in urban road usage. We find that the major usage of each road segment can be traced to its own--surprisingly few--driver sources. Based on this finding we propose a network of road usage by de...
متن کاملRoad Extraction in Urban Areas Supported by Context Objects
In this contribution, we introduce our concept for automatic road extraction in urban areas using high resolution aerial imagery and dense height information. For facilitating the extraction we use a hierachical road model comprising different road elements (markings, lanes, junctions, road network) at different scales as well as context objects of roads like buildings and vehicles. Global cont...
